LONDON FAMILY HISTORY CENTRE NEWS for June, 2010

New Resources:

Irish 1901 Census is now onlilne

Over 4.5 million records, covering some 850,000 households on the night of 31 March 1901. www.census.nationalarchives.ie 

Family Search's Record Search Pilot

Massive new updates (over fifty) to the European databases. Worldwide, several hundred new databases are now searchable on Record Search Pilot. Includes new Jamaican records. 

Chelsea Pensioners British Army Service Redcords

Chelsea Pensioners British Army Service Records (1883-1900) - now available on line at FindMyPast 

PCC Admon (Administrations)

PCC Admon register and microfilms now available, (1719-1858) at London FHC 

Origins Network

Dorset Marriage Index (1538-1856) available on British Origins, with over half a million searchable names.  Also two new Directories of Ireland on Irish Origins

London Parish Records

Now available on line, (Ancestry).  Search births and baptisms, 1813-1906; marriages and banns, 1754-1921; deaths and burials, 1813-1980; baptisms, marriages and burials, 1538-1812 (image only) on Ancestry.co.uk

British Library Newspaper Collection

Now available on line at the London Family History Centre.  Contains over 2 million 19th Century newspaper pages from 49 local and national titles - England, Scotland, Wales, and one from Ireland. 

1911 Census England & Wales:

All counties now including Wales now available, (Find My Past).  You can view images, print and/or download them to your memory stick on any of our computers.  No need to book.  The only charge is 20p for printing each image; however image viewing is limited to no more than 30 per day.

All counties are now online at www.nationalarchives.ie

Films:

Record Copy Wills from the Principal Probate Registry, 1858-1925; We have 1,020 of the 1,025 films in this series.
